Job description

About Optimize U

Optimize U is a rapidly growing health optimization company focused on helping patients improve how they feel, function, and age. Our clinics combine evidence-informed medicine, comprehensive laboratory testing, hormone optimization, metabolic health, sexual wellness, nutrition, lifestyle intervention, and advanced recovery services.

We are seeking an experienced, patient-focused Naturopathic Physician to help build and lead our clinical presence in the Portland market.

This is an excellent opportunity for an ND who values longer-term patient relationships, clinical autonomy within established protocols, ongoing education, and a proactive approach to health rather than a traditional symptom-management model.

The Opportunity

The Naturopathic Physician will evaluate and manage adult patients seeking improvement in energy, body composition, hormonal health, sexual wellness, metabolic function, healthy aging, and overall quality of life.

The right candidate will be clinically confident, highly personable, comfortable discussing sensitive health concerns, and able to explain complex medical information in a way that motivates patients to take action.

Primary Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive new-patient consultations and follow-up visits.
  • Review medical histories, symptoms, medications, laboratory results, and treatment goals.
  • Develop individualized, evidence-informed treatment plans.
  • Evaluate and manage patients receiving hormone optimization therapy when clinically appropriate.
  • Support patients with concerns involving: Testosterone deficiency and male hormone health; Perimenopause and menopause; Thyroid and metabolic health; Weight management and body composition; Sexual health and wellness; Fatigue, sleep, recovery, and performance; Nutrition and lifestyle modification.
  • Order and interpret laboratory testing within the provider’s lawful scope of practice.
  • Prescribe medications and therapies within Oregon’s naturopathic formulary and the provider’s demonstrated training and competency.
  • Educate patients regarding treatment options, expected outcomes, limitations, potential risks, and appropriate alternatives.
  • Monitor patient outcomes and adjust treatment plans based on symptoms, laboratory findings, clinical response, and current evidence.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and compliant medical documentation.
  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, nurses, health coaches, and clinic leadership.
  • Follow Optimize U clinical protocols, quality standards, compliance policies, and patient-safety procedures.
  • Participate in ongoing clinical education, peer review, and case discussions.
  • Help create an exceptional patient experience and a positive, accountable clinic culture.
  • Support community education, professional networking, and appropriate clinic-growth initiatives.
Required Qualifications
  • Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree from an accredited naturopathic medical program.
  • Active and unrestricted license, or eligibility to obtain licensure, through the Oregon Board of Naturopathic Medicine.
  • Current professional liability coverage or ability to obtain coverage.
  • Current CPR/BLS certification.
  • Strong clinical judgment and commitment to evidence-informed patient care.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and patient-education skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within standardized clinical and compliance systems.
  • Commitment to practicing strictly within Oregon law, applicable prescribing authority, and the provider’s education and demonstrated competency.
