Job summary

The City of Boise invites a Community Volunteer Specialist to advance habitat restoration and environmental education across Boise’s parks, the Boise River, and Greenbelt. You will lead programs that engage youth, families and community members in caring for riparian and pollinator habitats and enhancing natural spaces.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in environmental education or related field
  • At least 2 years of professional education experience leading youth and adults
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience accepted
  • Valid state-issued driver's license required
  • Background check and driving record checks required during hiring process

Responsibilities

  • Lead volunteer and education programs for youth, families and community members
  • Manage the Boise River, Greenbelt and riparian habitat project goals and volunteer engagement
  • Develop and update curriculum, lessons and schedules for community programs
  • Train and supervise volunteers to ensure safe, successful service opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams and partners to align goals with city initiatives
