Leila Day is a progressive, play-based school in New Haven seeking an All School Substitute Teacher for Preschool, Kindergarten & Afterschool. This full-time, on-site role offers a salary of $32,680–$37,840 annually, based on education and experience.

You will provide warm, responsive care, build trusting relationships, and support teachers in implementing play-based, nature-centered learning experiences across age groups.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Minimum 1 year of experience with preschool/kindergarten or related setting.
• Ability to work across age groups and adapt to different classrooms.
• Strong communication and collaboration with families and staff.
• Genuine interest in play-based, nature-centered education.

Responsabilités

• Provide warm, responsive care and supervision for children across preschool, kindergarten, and afterschool classrooms.
• Build trusting relationships with children and learn routines and culture of each classroom.
• Support teachers in play-based, emergent, and nature-centered learning experiences.
• Engage actively with children during play, routines, and outdoor experiences.
• Support children's social-emotional and developmental needs in an inclusive classroom.
• Follow classroom routines, use sound judgment, and adapt to changing circumstances.
• Help maintain safe, organized learning environments and stock materials.
• Communicate and collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and colleagues.
