Job Description

We are accepting applications for Natural Resources Technician 1 - Magee Marsh Wildlife Area Visitor Center (2 positions available - Ottawa County) within the Division of Wildlife. What you will do...
  • Overseeing daily activities, janitorial duties, and visitor interactions at the Magee Marsh Visitor Center.
  • Providing support and assistance for volunteers in the visitor center.
  • Other duties include landscaping, ground and trail maintenance, operating power tools, lawn mowers, spraying herbicides, and pressure washers.
  • Assisting with conservation education programming for youth and adults including but not limited to birding, archery, fishing, kayaking, and wetland activities.
  • Participating in habitat manipulation and assisting area staff with special projects including baiting and banding of waterfowl on the wildlife area.
  • This position requires working weekend hours.
Duration...
  • March 2025 - October 2025
Work Hours/Work Conditions...
  • Variable, up to 32 hours/week (Typically 8 hour days but may include some long days, up to 12 hours, weekend work required)
  • Schedules will be Sunday - Wednesday or Wednesday - Saturday

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications: Formal education in arithmetic that includes addition, subtraction, multiplication & division & in reading & speaking common English vocabulary; valid driver's license; valid Commercial Driver's License required if motor equipment is of type & size regulated by Section 4506.01 & 4506.12 of Ohio Revised Code.
