Job summary

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers invites applications for the position of Natural Resources Manager in Oregon. This role supports and leads projects in recreation and environmental stewardship, coordinating with federal, state, and local agencies on related issues.

The position oversees budgets for recreation and environmental stewardship and the Fire Management Program, driving integrated management and stewardship across operating projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree (or higher) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
• Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major in the above fields plus appropriate experience or additional education.
• Specialized experience: describes at least one year of experience equivalent to GS-11 level with managing natural resources and outdoor recreation programs.
• Time in Grade: last 52 weeks of federal service must have 52 weeks at next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).

Responsibilities

• Manage Recreation and Environmental Stewardship budgets and the Fire Management Program.

About the Position:

The Natural Resources Manager provides support and leadership to the operating projects in the areas of Recreation and Environmental Stewardship, including coordination with other Federal, state, and local agencies on related issues, managing the Recreation and Environmental Stewardship budgets, and the Fire Management Program.

Individual Occupational Requirements for the Natural Resources Manager:

• A. Degree: Bachelor's degree (or higher degree) in biological sciences, agriculture, natural resource management, chemistry, or related disciplines appropriate to the position.
• B. Combination of Education and Experience: Courses equivalent to a major, as shown in A above, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
• Specialized experience: Qualified applicants should describe in their resume at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level with managing natural resources and outdoor recreation programs.
• Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
