Qualifications

  • 24 months of training or experience in operation of LEADS terminal in a public safety environment.
  • 12 months of training or experience in 2-way radio communications.
  • 12 months of training or experience in supervisory principles and techniques.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise statewide radio communications and dispatch operations.
  • Develop and maintain training for Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD).
  • Train new Dispatchers and coordinate ongoing education.

What we need:
We are seeking energetic, passionate people who enjoy the outdoors and want to play a key role for the position of Natural Resources Dispatcher Supervisor within the Division of Law Enforcement, headquartered at Fountain Square, assigned to Franklin County. What you will do…

  • Supervise single shift operation of statewide Ohio Department of Natural Resources radio communications program & Dispatchers
  • Develop, plan & conduct Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) training schedule & maintain daily operations of radio communications center
  • Operate statewide CAD console with statewide 800 MHz radio system & data network
  • Facilitate law enforcement & administrative communication
  • Serve as point of contact in emergency situations (e.g., monitor Law Enforcement Automated Data Service [LEADS] for incoming information, make contact with appropriate personnel, transmit emergency determinations, receive & transmit all messages)
  • Train new Dispatchers ; provide and coordinate continuing education for current Dispatchers
    Plan and maintain work schedules, ensuring 24/7 coverage of emergency operations
  • Starting hourly pay of $30.96/hour with multiple pay increases over your first 6.5 years of service, with an end salary of $44.11hr.

24 mos. trg or 24 mos. exp in operation of LEADS terminal in a public safety environment (e.g., law enforcement, fire services, medical services) AND 12 mos. trg or 12 mos. exp in 2-way radio & teletype communications terminal in a public safety environment (e.g., law enforcement, fire services, medical services) AND 12 mos. trg or 12 mos. exp in supervisory principles & techniques, - Or 24 mos. trg or 24 mos. exp as Natural Resources Dispatcher 2, 52522 AND 12 mos. trg or 12 mos. exp in supervisory principles & techniques,

-Or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications For Employment noted above.
