What Will Be On Your Plate?

Job Title: Natural Living Shift Supervisor

Department: Natural Living

Reports To: Natural Living Manager

FLSA Status: Nonexempt

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Natural Living Shift Supervisor is responsible for carrying out the duties listed below (other duties may be assigned):

1. Under the direction of the Natural Living Manager, is responsible for educating staff on products as well as sources to find information on products and ingredients.
2. Under the direction of the Natural Living Manager, educates staff on the upkeep of the department (awareness of labels and expiration dates, on- and off-sale of products, proper ordering for stock and sales, cleanliness of shelves and products, etc.)
3. Maintains knowledge and keeps up-to-date on new information through trade magazines, etc.
4. Assists the Natural Living Manager in maintaining a high-profit margin by the approved pre-set budget, which entails, but is not limited to: sales goals, cost of goods, expenses, price changes, and waste management.
5. Assures high quality and proper quantity through accurate ordering and receiving while under the direction of the Natural Living Manager.
6. Rotates stock to assure high quality, and fresh merchandise at all times.
7. Accurately prices all merchandise by stamping, marking, or placing shelf tags/signs.
8. Assures daily price changes are done accurately and completed before the store opens; maintaining price integrity at all times.
9. Handles all customer complaints in such a manner to assure repeat business no matter the complaint.

Supervisory Responsibilities

Carries out supervisory responsibilities by company policies and applicable laws. Other responsibilities include assisting with the training of employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding employees, addressing complaints, and resolving problems.

Education and/or Experience

High School diploma or general education degree (GED); or three to six months of related experience.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand for long periods; walk; frequently use hands; handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. The employee occasionally is required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and color vision.
