Job summary

The International Rescue Committee in Miami is seeking a part-time Natural Helper to assist the Success Coach with services for immigrant children and families. Travel within Miami-Dade County and coordinate services to ensure safe environments and smooth integration into the community.

You will support referrals, maintain client records, and help prepare home-visit documentation while engaging with diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and writing skills.
• Required - bilingual ability in English and Spanish.

• Able to work independently and under pressure.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in Spanish is desired.

Responsibilities

• Ensure clients are properly enrolled in the programs internal intake system (Trust Central).
• Assist with accepting referrals, managing active cases, and contacting sponsors and families as directed by the assigned caseworker.
• Maintain data on all clients enrolled in the program and all dismissed clients, including actions taken with youth, sponsor, and referring organization in the form of progress/case notes.
• Assist with filing, closing, and with overall daily maintenance of records found in either the physical case file and/or on Trust Central.
• Assist with managing and updating resource spreadsheet.
• Assist program staff with preparing home visit documentation including locating case specific resources/services prior to a scheduled home visit.
• Assist with making referrals to partnering organizations.
• Attend all organizational required trainings.
• Assist with the submission of monthly stabilization fund and Contributions In-kind (CIK) reports, and quarterly unduplicated client reports.
• Other duties as assigned

Job Overview:

The Natural Helper will assist the Success Coach in providing services to immigrant children and their families. The Natural Helper will coordinate services to ensure that the children are living in a safe environment and integrating well into their new community. The Natural Helper will assist the caseworker in connecting them to appropriate services and resources. Travel within Miami-Dade County. This is a part time position.

Job Requirements:

• Education: Must pass a background check, High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Work Experience: Relevant professional experience in human services field preferred.
• Demonstrated Skills & Competencies: Strong relationship building, diplomacy, and networking skills; ability to effectively build internal and external relationships.
• Demonstrated success working and communicating effectively in a multi-cultural environment.
• Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills combined with the proven ability to prioritize and manage time effectively.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in work product.
• Fluent in English, both spoken and written; proficiency in Spanish is desired.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook); ability to use the internet and other digital tools for data entry, research, and problem-solving purposes.
• Valid driver's license and access to a personal, insured vehicle.

Compensation:

Pay Rate: $17.53 - $18.45/hr. Ranges are based on various factors including the labor market, job type, internal equity, and budget. Exact offers are calibrated by work location, individual candidate experience and skills relative to the defined job requirements.
