Chevron is seeking a Natural Gas Commercial Analyst to support trading and optimization across North American markets. You will deliver market intelligence, build models, and provide decision-support to traders and commercial teams.

The role emphasizes developing market views, evaluating opportunities, and leveraging advanced analytics with Databricks, SQL, Python and Excel to drive value. Houston-based, full-time role with competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of exposure to natural gas trading or other commodity trading.
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, computer science, business or related field.
• Experience in North American natural gas markets, including fundamentals, storage, pipeline infrastructure, and basis markets.
• Experience supporting physical and/or financial natural gas trading activities.
• Familiarity with industry data sources such as ICE, Bloomberg, Platts, EIA, Wood Mackenzie, or Criterion.

Responsabilités

• Monitor natural gas market fundamentals, pricing, trade flows, infrastructure developments, storage, weather, and competitor activity to generate actionable trading insights.
• Develop and communicate market views to support physical and financial trading strategies.
• Collaborate with traders and commercial analysts to identify arbitrage opportunities, optimize portfolios, and support commercial decisions.
• Build and maintain supply/demand, storage, infrastructure, and forecasting models to evaluate market risks and opportunities.
• Support natural gas storage optimization through inventory analysis, economics, and market assessments.
• Conduct ad-hoc market research and analysis in support of the trading desk.
• Leverage advanced analytics, machine learning, and predictive modeling to improve forecasting and trading performance.
• Partner with digital and data teams to automate processes and enhance analytical capabilities.
• Build industry relationships and maintain awareness of market, regulatory, and competitive developments.
• Champion continuous improvement initiatives that enhance efficiency and reduce manual effort.
