Job summary

Wade Trim seeks a Natural Gas Designer to join the Industrial Commercial Energy team in Pittsburgh or Columbus. Requires a high school diploma and 3+ years drafting experience in natural gas. Proficiency in AutoCAD 3D and familiarity with Civil 3D is required. A hybrid-remote schedule may be available after 30 days of employment.

Responsibilities include preparing designs, reproducing drawings, BOMs, and CAD scheduling. Strong writing and communication skills are essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• 3+ years of drafting experience in natural gas distribution systems.
• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Environmental or related field preferred.
• Compression station design experience a plus.
• HDD modeling experience a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare computer drafted natural gas pipeline designs, as-builts, and mechanical detail drawings.
• Reproduce historic pipeline drawings in AutoCAD.
• Generate bill of materials.
• Work independently.
• Print working drawings using a plotter.
• Create estimated time requirements for projects.
• Attend project meetings to determine CAD schedules.
• Save project data daily/weekly.
• Complete 811 design requests and coordinate responses with third parties.
• Verify and organize field survey notes.
• Assist Project Managers as needed.
• Attend meetings as needed.
• Maintain excellent client relations.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

Position Description:

We are looking for a Natural Gas Designer to join our Industrial Commercial Energy team to improve infrastructure in our Pittsburgh or Columbus office. Candidates must have a high school diploma, and 3 or more years of drafting experience in the natural gas industry. Excellent technical writing, organization and communication skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work well with others. Knowledge of personal computer hardware and software configurations and familiarity with AutoCAD 3D is required. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule may be available after 30 days of employment.

• 3+ years of experience in natural gas distribution systems/design, natural gas infrastructure, regulator station design, high pressure steel, compression, and government regulations.


• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D.


• Compression station design experience is a plus.


• Horizontal directional drill (HDD) modeling is a plus.


• Experience with CadWorx or Autodesk Plant 3D is a plus.
