Job summary

Wade Trim is seeking a Natural Gas Designer to join our Industrial Commercial Energy team in Pittsburgh or Columbus. You will produce drafting designs for natural gas pipelines, as-builts, and mechanical drawings, with a focus on accuracy and collaboration.

Requirements include a high school diploma, 3+ years in natural gas drafting, strong technical writing and communication skills, and proficiency with AutoCAD 3D. A flexible hybrid-remote schedule may follow 30 days of employment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience in natural gas distribution systems/design, natural gas infrastructure, regulator station design, high pressure steel, compression, and government regulations.
• Experience with Autodesk Civil 3D.
• Compression station design experience is a plus.
• Horizontal directional drill (HDD) modeling is a plus.
• Experience with CadWorx or Autodesk Plant 3D is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare computer drafted natural gas pipeline designs, as-builts, and mechanical detail drawings.
• Reproduce historic pipeline drawings in AutoCAD.
• Generate bill of materials.
• Ability to work independently.
• Print working drawings using a plotter.
• Create estimated time requirements for projects.
• Attend project-specific meetings to determine CAD schedules.
• Save project-specific data on a daily and weekly basis.
• Complete 811 design requests and coordinate responses to obtain 3rd party infrastructure.
• Verify and organize field visit survey notes.
• Assist Project Managers as needed.
• Attend meetings as needed.
• Maintain excellent client relations.
• Maintain a safe working environment.

Candidates must have a high school diploma, and 3 or more years of drafting experience in the natural gas industry. Excellent technical writing, organization and communication skills are essential. Candidates must be self-motivated and able to work well with others. Knowledge of personal computer hardware and software configurations and familiarity with AutoCAD 3D is required. A flexible hybrid-remote work schedule may be available after 30 days of employment.
