Job Description:

The School Programs Coordinator oversees after‑school programming, athletics, extracurricular activities, student enrichment, and volunteer support. This role works closely with school leadership and staff to ensure programs are organized, clearly communicated, mission‑aligned, and supportive of student growth. The coordinator serves as a primary contact for coaches, families, students, volunteers, community partners, and staff involved in after‑school and extracurricular programming.

Position Responsibilities:

After‑School Programming and Extracurricular Activities

  • Coordinate after‑school programs, activities, and clubs.
  • Collaborate with after‑care instructors, coaches, and activity leaders to support smooth program implementation.
  • Coordinate schedules, staffing, supplies, communication, transportation, and logistics.
  • Communicate program details, expectations, cancellations, and updates to staff, students, and families.
  • Ensure programs are safe, organized, mission‑aligned, and supportive of student engagement.
  • Manage sports and extracurricular athletics with support from the School Leadership Team.
  • Serve as the main contact for coaches, leagues, students, and families.
  • Manage athletic calendars, rosters, sign‑ups, schedules, fees, uniforms, equipment, and gym use.
  • Attend league meetings, practices, games, and evening events as needed.
  • Support the athletics budget, including league fees, invoices, stipends, and supplies.

Family, Student, and Volunteer Engagement

  • Manage parent and student volunteers for programs, athletics, and events.
  • Train volunteers and ensure compliance and safeguarding requirements are met.
  • Coordinate volunteer schedules and communication.
  • Build positive relationships with students, families, staff, coaches, and community members.

Community Partnerships and Program Growth

  • Build partnerships that bring new activities and enrichment opportunities to Nativity.
  • Serve as the main contact for after‑school community partnerships.
  • Collaborate with partners to support school athletics and student activities.
  • Expand student access to enrichment, leadership, service, athletics, and creative programming.

Operations, Records, and Administrative Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of participation, attendance, forms, payments, volunteers, and program details.
  • Complete required forms, reports, and documentation.Manage program calendars and communicate updates.
  • Assist with budgets, stipends, invoices, purchasing, and transportation needs.
  • Supervise assigned areas during after‑school programming, events, practices, or games.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Professional Development and School Events

  • Participate in required professional development and spiritual formation, including August Orientation, retreats, Ignatian Formation, school‑year PD days, and June PD days.
  • Attend required school events, including Back to School Night, Open Houses, Retreat, Parent‑Teacher Conferences, Scholarship Dinner, Professional Development Days, and Graduation.

Position Qualifications

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • High school diploma or GED required; bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Experience in schools, youth programs, athletics, after‑school programming, or nonprofit programming preferred
  • At least one year of experience working with children preferred
  • Valid driver’s license preferred
  • CPR/AED certification or willingness to obtain certification
  • Safe Environment training required upon hire
  • Commitment to Catholic education, Jesuit values, and NJA’s mission

Spanish‑speaking or bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
