Job summary

The Toledo Zoo & Aquarium seeks a Full-Time Native Plant Nursery Supervisor to lead the Wild Toledo Native Plant program. You will oversee daily care, stock health, inventory, and chemical records, while cultivating plants for public sale and landscaping needs.

Under general supervision, you will train others and coordinate with the Conservation Department. This is a non-exempt role eligible for overtime; weekend work is required during plant season, and a valid driver’s license is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in horticulture, biology, environmental science, or a related field (or an Associate’s degree with relevant experience).
• Experience in nursery operations and conservation biology concepts; willingness to learn more.
• Must be able to work Saturdays during plant season and possess a valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Operate the Wild Toledo Native Plant nursery under supervision.
• Care for nursery stock and maintain healthy inventory and chemical records.
• Cultivate and maintain native plants for sale and landscaping projects; ensure proper sizes and quality.
