Job summary

Bonnet Springs Park is seeking a Horticulture Technician to assist in developing, protecting, and enhancing native plants for guest enjoyment. The role requires knowledge of threats to native habitats and involves working outdoors in heat and occasional cold, with weekend availability essential.

Qualifications

• Education in horticulture, botany, natural sciences, or related field preferred.
• Three to five years related experience or equivalent combination.
• Knowledge of Florida native plants desirable.
• Willingness to work weekends, holidays, and events.

Responsibilities

• Plant, water, weed, and trim plant communities in BSP grounds, greenhouse, and butterfly house.
• Report conditions to management and plan planting/maintenance schedules.
• Ensure weed control in all beds and exhibits.
• Coordinate maintenance with the team to complete repairs.
• Assist with greenhouse environmental management and seasonal bed rotations.
• Support butterfly exhibit population through plant cultivation.
• Engage with volunteers and community partners to build relationships.
• Maintain clean, show-ready greenhouse conditions.
• Seek ways to improve overall efficiency based on attendance and operations.
