Native Performance Marketing Lead – Consulting
Our Company
Strand Marketing is a boutique digital marketing consultancy specializing in strategic client services and performance-based affiliate media buying. Founded seven years ago, Strand has partnered with both Fortune 500 brands and fast-growing startups, delivering measurable growth through expertise in media strategy, marketing operations, and the consumer journey. As we continue to scale, we are looking to expand our team with talented individuals who can support our growing portfolio of performance marketing clients.
The Role
Strand is hiring a Native Performance Marketing Lead to make native advertising work for our brand clients from the first impression to conversion. This is not a buying-only role: you will own the full native funnel, including the ad, advertorial or interstitial, and landing page that converts readers into leads or customers.
Taboola is our core native platform, but we need someone who understands what happens after the click, can build a repeatable approach across clients, and can demonstrate value beyond last-click attribution. You will partner with media, account, creative, and analytics teams.
What you’ll do
- Plan, launch, and optimize native campaigns across Taboola, Outbrain, Yahoo, Nexxen, and similar platforms; manage bids, budgets, pacing, publisher lists, and placements against CPA, CPL, ROAS, and downstream conversion goals.
- Take ownership of campaign performance and scaling; proactively identify issues and opportunities rather than waiting for instructions.
- Diagnose changes in delivery and conversion efficiency, including creative fatigue, audience saturation, device, geographic, and daypart performance.
- Write and test headlines and thumbnails; create or direct advertorials, listicles, quizzes, and other pre-sell experiences aligned with each brand’s voice and sponsored-content requirements.
- Build and optimize mobile-first landing pages and lead forms using page builders such as Unbounce, Instapage, or Leadpages, with minimal developer support.
- Run structured tests across ad creative, devices, geographies, dayparts, pre-sell experiences, and landing pages to improve CVR and acquisition efficiency.
- Implement and maintain conversion tracking, including pixels, server-side events, UTMs, and GA4, with analytics support where appropriate.
- Report on in-session and assisted conversions alongside last-click results; collaborate with analytics on attribution and incrementality testing.
- Communicate performance and test results to clients and internal teams through clear storytelling, data-supported impact projections, and thoughtful budget or scaling recommendations.
- Build reusable advertorial and landing-page approaches and share native performance learnings with the broader team.
In This Role, Success Looks Like:
- In the first 90 days, audit current native campaigns, tracking, and post-click experiences across clients.
- Launch at least one advertorial-versus-direct test for a client where native has underperformed.
- Establish reporting that includes in-session conversion rate and assisted conversions alongside last-click results.
- Improve native CVR and/or cost per lead or acquisition against agreed client goals.
- Demonstrate successful native performance for more than one client and create a reusable library of advertorial and landing-page templates.
- Proactively communicate performance, projections, testing outcomes, and recommendations for responsible program scaling.
What We’re Looking For:
- Approximately 3–5 years of relevant performance marketing experience, including recent hands-on direct-response campaign management. Current platform experience matters more than experience several roles ago.
- Recent Taboola or Outbrain direct-response expertise is the strongest fit. Exceptional DV360 or The Trade Desk buyers may be considered with evidence of acquisition-focused optimization and full-funnel conversion ownership. General impression- or reach-focused programmatic experience alone is not sufficient.
- Quantifiable examples of improving CVR, CPA, CPL, or downstream customer outcomes; ability to explain specific tests, optimizations, and results.
- Experience owning meaningful media budgets, ideally hundreds of thousands to millions of dollars, including pacing, performance, scaling, and incremental budget recommendations.
- Agency or comparable multi-client experience, with strong client-facing communication and the ability to explain recommendations to senior stakeholders.
- A portfolio of advertorials, pre-sell pages, interstitials, and landing pages created or directed, with measurable results.
- Direct-response copywriting skills, page-builder proficiency, and sufficient HTML/CSS familiarity to make updates without extensive developer support.
- Working knowledge of pixels, conversion APIs or server-side tracking, UTMs, GA4, attribution, and sponsored-content compliance.
- Proactive judgment, cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to support evidence-based forecasts and business recommendations.
Nice to have:
- Experience with insurance, financial services, or medical/healthcare clients.
- AI fluency and practical use of AI tools in performance marketing workflows.
- Experience with Meta, Google Demand Gen, or other paid channels and how native complements them.
- Figma or similar design tools, CRO tools, A/B testing platforms, and holdout or geo-incrementality tests.
