Job summary

Red Circle Lodge, located in Utah near Zion National Park, seeks a Cultural Director to plan and conduct Native American cultural programs for staff and residents. You will oversee cultural initiatives, coordinate events, and collaborate with the CEO.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and promote cultural recovery programs for staff and clients.
  • Research and update cultural resources and community interests.
  • Assist with marketing and partnership materials (press releases, newsletters, brochures, posters, flyers).
  • Book and contract with cultural resources for services.
  • Coordinate annual calendar and Fun Days.
  • Supervise staff development in Cultural Competencies including Historical Trauma and tribal interactions.
  • May work various shifts at RCL locations.

POSITION SUMMARY

This exciting opportunity is located in the shadows of Zion National Park near hiking trails, state parks and majestic mountain scenery. Under general supervision of the Board of Directors the Cultural Director plans and conducts Native American Cultural programs and events for staff and residents.

ABOUT US

We are residential youth treatment program open to adolescents who wish to heal through therapeutic practices and Native American philosophies. We are a structured living environment for boys and girls 12–17 years of age who are struggling with substance abuse, depression, suicidal ideation, family and relationship problems, oppositional deviance, deviant behaviors, delinquency, mental health disorders, sexual promiscuity, and other destructive and addictive behaviors.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to the CEO and may oversee culture team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
  • Plans, coordinates, and promotes cultural recovery programs towards education, healing, and recovery for staff and clientele
  • Research and updates current cultural program resources and interest within the Red Circle community
  • Assists with marketing and partnership programs including: preparation of/and administering appropriate public information material (e.g., press releases, newsletters, brochures, posters, and flyers)
  • Books and contracts with various cultural resources for services
  • Assists with programming, coordination of annual calendar, and presentation of Fun Days
  • Supervises and coordinates staff development in Cultural Competencies, including Historical Trauma and tribal interaction
  • Performs additional work as required
  • May be assigned to work a variety of shifts at either of the RCL locations
OTHER DUTIES

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling or Behavioral Health Services field and/or CADCII
  • Experience: Previous job specific work experience maintaining a CADCII and supervisory experience
  • Passion for making a difference in the lives of our clients
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Primary activities: Involves driving, walking, and talking. Involves sitting and standing.
  • Travel: Frequent, including interstate travel
  • Working conditions: Primarily inside with well - lit and well-ventilated areas.
