The American Heart Association has an excellent opportunity for a National Senior Program Lead, Risk Factor Control. The location of the selected candidate is flexible and remote. Expected pay range will be $105,000 to $115,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible, grant-funded opportunity, with current funding through 5/30/2028. The application portal will close on May 23, 2025.

The Senior Lead will provide leadership in planning and executing the enterprise-wide patient strategy on cholesterol and genetic health factor management. This role will serve as a leader in advancing the patient-centered strategy, ensuring the patient voice is heard, integrated, and reflected in all aspects of this portfolio, driving improved outcomes, and activating patients through education and engagement.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement association-wide strategic plans and goals for cholesterol and genetic health factor patient strategy.
  • Oversee research and trend analysis to identify and apply real-time market insights.
  • Serve as subject matter expert for cholesterol and Lp(a).
  • Design and track performance metrics for portfolio operational plans to measure achievement and success.
  • Convene cross-Association working groups to plan, review progress, identify issues, and ensure coordinated work to meet strategic goals.
  • Guide and direct a matrix team in plan execution to ensure integrated results.
  • Act as the key contact for national partners and represent the organization externally on cholesterol patient strategy issues.
  • Provide senior leadership with recommendations on resource development and project priorities.
  • Facilitate cholesterol projects with Development (National Corporate Relations, Field Corporate Relations, Mission Advancement) to secure resources.
  • Perform other duties as assigned within scope and responsibility.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Health, Health Promotion, Patient Education/Engagement, or equivalent work experience.
  • Five (5) to eight (8) years of relevant experience.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with demonstrated stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience in process improvement, project planning, evaluation, and risk management.
  • Ability to work productively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Ability to guide and implement nationally developed programs collaboratively.
Compensation & Benefits

Expected pay range: $105,000 - $115,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials may apply. The organization reserves the right to pay more or less.
