Job summary

The Department of Justice, FBI Office of General Counsel, National Security & Cyber Law Branch, Strategic Projects Law Unit seeks attorneys to perform research and analysis on national security, cyber operations, and FISA, providing expert guidance and drafting relevant policies.

Applicants must hold a JD from an ABA-accredited school and be active in the bar, with post-JD experience required for GS-13/14/15 levels. Relocation may be necessary.

Qualifications

Must possess a law degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
Active bar membership in a US jurisdiction is required.
Post-J.D. legal experience aligned to GS-13/14/15 levels must be demonstrated.

Responsibilities

Conducts research and legal analysis related to national security and cyber operations, including FISA applications.
Collaborates with DOJ/NSD/OI on compliance matters.
Provides expert-level legal advice to agents and analysts on compliance issues.
Drafts legislation and supports congressional staff during hearings.
Advises on FBI policies regarding national security and cyber matters and conducts training.
Maintains liaison with FBI attorneys, DOJ/NSD/OI, and Intelligence Community.
