Job summary

BCG Attorney Search is seeking a National Security and Global Trade Associate for its Short Hills, NJ office, with a preference for Washington, D.C. The ideal candidate will advise on U.S.

economic sanctions, export controls, CFIUS, and national security issues in corporate and financial transactions. Duties include drafting and reviewing compliance policies, conducting diligence on M&A, supporting investigations, and collaborating across teams.

Qualifications

  • 3–4 years of relevant experience in international trade, sanctions, export controls, CFIUS, or national security matters.
  • Experience supporting transactions involving trade or national security considerations.
  • Admission to practice (or eligibility) in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Strong drafting, analytical, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Advise clients on U.S. economic sanctions, including compliance counseling and risk assessments.
  • Counsel on export controls under the Export Administration Regulations and International Traffic in Arms Regulations.
  • Support CFIUS and national security reviews, including transaction structuring and filings.
  • Conduct diligence in mergers, acquisitions, and other strategic transactions.
  • Draft and review compliance policies and contractual provisions related to trade and national security risks.
  • Assist with internal investigations and responses to government inquiries.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on multidisciplinary matters.
