This is a unique leadership opportunity within a successful investment company poised for growth. The National Sales Manager will be responsible for hiring, training, and motivating wholesalers, managing their performance to meet sales targets, maintain activity levels, and stay within budget.

The role requires a driven, communicative leader with strong relationship-building skills who can work collaboratively across disciplines. As a hands-on coach and sales leader, you will contribute innovative ideas for business growth and support profitable initiatives. The role involves frequent travel with direct reports, key stakeholders, and industry events.

Working closely with the Head of Strategy and cross-functional teams, the National Sales Manager will develop and execute sales strategies to exceed goals, increase market share, and ensure profitable growth.

The ideal candidate will be outcome-oriented and focused on creating efficient processes for sales planning, operations, training, onboarding, and tracking. The role also entails cultivating a high-performance culture aligned with our core values of accountability, transparency, innovation, and grit.

Key Job Responsibilities
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of RVPs on best practices for product positioning, territory management, and pipeline development to drive sales of 1290 Funds mutual funds.
  • Implement sales processes and strategies to generate gross sales meeting or exceeding plans while maintaining market share and monitoring redemption rates.
  • Develop and oversee sales compensation plans, travel, and expense budgets.
  • Collaborate on marketing, training, and sales plans for new and existing investment products.
  • Manage sales pipeline, negotiations, and develop KPIs to improve pipeline growth, closing rates, deal size, and margins.
  • Provide skills training for RVPs and internal wholesalers on sales strategies, relationship development, and presentations.
  • Set and achieve sales goals, analyze performance metrics, and work with support teams to forecast and establish targets.
  • Identify client needs and coordinate feedback to support marketing, product, and portfolio management teams.
  • Represent the company at conferences and events, serving as a brand ambassador and subject matter expert.
  • Ensure the sales team understands sales processes, product offerings, technology, and compliance procedures.
  • Lead sales meetings to motivate teams and foster collaboration.
  • Work with marketing to develop go-to-market plans and support lead generation efforts.

The position offers a base salary of $150,000 plus variable compensation. Equitable provides comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, a 401(k), and paid time off. The role requires weekly travel or the ability to travel over 75% of the time with RVPs.

Qualifications include 7+ years of proven sales leadership experience, strong industry relationships, a self-motivated approach, and excellent communication skills. Preferred qualifications include experience in growth-stage startups, familiarity with wealth management products, and knowledge of CRM tools like Salesforce.
