About the Opportunity:
We are supporting a growing provider of technical solutions and services to industrial customers. Their teams help organizations address complex operational, environmental, and process challenges through engineered solutions, responsive field support, and long-term commercial partnerships.
We are seeking an experienced Regional Business Director to lead commercial growth across the U.S. This role combines regional strategy, team leadership, key-account development, and commercial discipline. The successful candidate will translate company priorities into clear sales plans, coach a high-performing team, and build durable customer relationships that deliver profitable growth.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead regional growth. Develop and execute a regional commercial strategy aligned with company objectives, market conditions, and customer needs.
- Manage and develop the sales team. Set clear goals, provide direction and coaching, conduct performance reviews, and build the capabilities required for consistent execution.
- Own revenue performance. Establish sales targets, monitor results, manage forecasting and pipeline health, and take corrective action when performance is off plan.
- Build strategic customer relationships. Strengthen partnerships with key B2B accounts, engage senior customer stakeholders, and ensure a high standard of service and responsiveness.
- Advance complex solution sales. Guide the team in developing tailored technical and commercial proposals that address customers’ medium- and long-term needs.
- Negotiate pricing and terms. Lead significant contract negotiations and review non-standard proposals, balancing customer requirements with margin, risk, and cash-flow objectives.
- Improve commercial effectiveness. Maintain strong CRM discipline, use data to support decision-making, and continuously improve sales processes, account planning, and opportunity management.
- Expand customer value. Identify cross-sell and upsell opportunities that deepen customer relationships and broaden the value delivered.
- Collaborate across the business. Partner with operations, engineering, finance, marketing, and leadership to align resources, resolve issues, and deliver on customer commitments.
- Represent the market perspective. Track industry trends, competitive activity, and customer feedback; communicate insights that inform business priorities and investment decisions.
What You’ll Bring:
- 10+ years of progressive commercial experience, including regional sales leadership, revenue ownership, and people management in a B2B industrial, technical, or services environment.
- A bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, chemistry, environmental science, or a related field; equivalent practical experience will also be considered.
- Demonstrated success leading multi-territory sales teams, including technical sales, solution-selling, or sales engineering professionals.
- A track record of developing and executing regional strategies that deliver sustained, profitable revenue growth.
- Strong understanding of complex B2B sales, long sales cycles, contract-based pricing, forecasting, and margin management.
- Experience leading contract negotiations and making sound commercial decisions that balance growth, customer value, profitability, and risk.
- Strong financial acumen, business judgment, communication, and organizational skills.
- The ability to influence customers, executives, and cross-functional stakeholders with credibility and clarity.
- Willingness and ability to travel to customer and company locations across the U.S. as business needs require.
Preferred Experience:
- Industrial services, manufacturing, chemical processing, environmental services, engineered solutions, or a comparable technical market.
- Regional forecasting, sales budgeting, and portfolio pricing responsibility.
- Scaling or strengthening a sales organization through coaching, performance management, talent development, and process improvement.
Leadership Qualities:
- Strategic and commercially minded, with the ability to convert market insight into focused action.
- Customer-centered and skilled at building trusted, long-term relationships.
- Accountable, data-informed, and comfortable making decisions in complex or ambiguous situations.
- An effective communicator who can align teams, simplify complexity, and influence a range of audiences.
- A collaborative, hands-on leader who develops people and creates a high-performance culture.
What We Offer:
- Competitive, market-aligned base salary with a performance-based incentive opportunity.
- A comprehensive and flexible benefits package, including retirement support and paid time off.
- The opportunity to shape regional growth within a dynamic, customer-focused organization.
- A collaborative environment with meaningful opportunities for professional development and impact.
