VieMed Healthcare is seeking a respiratory therapist who will be responsible for installing and delivering respiratory therapy equipment to patients in their homes. Job description

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation and delivery of respiratory therapist equipment and provision of all needed supplies and products to patients in the home, and ongoing assessment of patients and equipment in the covering or assigned service area.
• Maintain clinical contact with physicians, referred contacts, health care practitioners, area patient care coordinators, and others involved in the care of patients referred to Sleep Management, LLC d/b/a VieMed for home respiratory therapist services.
• Maintain records, charting, progress notes, clinical files, equipment records, preventative maintenance records, and other necessary documentation for any patient service in the dictated area.
• Maintain accurate inventory of all Sleep Management/VieMed assets and supplies.
• Maintain vehicle maintenance and service (paid for by Sleep Management, LLC d/b/a VieMed) and ensure it is always maintained per applicable accreditation standards.
• Ensure all pertinent demographic information and insurance coverage is updated regularly and with any change in personal or professional status.
• Oversee all applicable regulatory rules and guidelines as they pertain to the staff respiratory therapist.
• Exhibit effective written and verbal communication skills and adhere to cost‑containment policies and procedures.
• Work with local/remote office staff to ensure prompt and accurate billing and documentation of services, including providing adequate information to satisfy third‑party payor guidelines for coverage.
• Work with all clinical, managerial, and sales staff to promote and market home respiratory therapist services to all referral sources.
• Ensure proper, accurate, and safe operation of all equipment prior to installation.
• Provide availability for patient contact and respond to patient needs.
• Complete equipment setups, quarterly checks, and any unscheduled equipment service/patient calls for all types of equipment.
• Work with fellow RTs in the area on a rotating on‑call schedule and cover on‑call when coverage is needed within the dictated service area.
• Work with team members (other RTs, PCCs, ACMs and various departments) to ensure tasks are completed.
• Apply and maintain any state licensures dictated by the Clinical Coordinator.
• Travel to assigned territories needing assistance 75% of the year or as deemed necessary.
• Retrieve and return equipment to local RT or storage location.
• Perform other duties/projects as assigned.
• Adhere to company credit card and expense policy during travel.

Work Environment

• Requires visiting patient homes for set‑up and service of medical devices.
• Requires travel to dictated Viemed servicing areas across the United States.

Preferred Education And Experience

• Medical or respiratory experience.
• Valid respiratory therapist licensure in the states in which you practice.

While work hours will vary week to week, you will generally be expected to be available for work during normal business hours, which are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
