Job summary

VieMed Healthcare in Tallahassee, FL seeks a Home Respiratory Therapist to manage the clinical, technical and administrative functions of our home program. You will install and deliver respiratory equipment to patients at home, assess equipment and patient needs, and serve as the clinical liaison with physicians and care teams.

You will maintain records, manage inventory, ensure regulatory compliance, train staff, and collaborate with office and clinical colleagues to promote sleep and home

Qualifications

• Medical or respiratory experience.
• Valid Respiratory Therapist license in the practicing state.

Responsibilities

• Oversee clinical, technical and administrative functions of the Home Respiratory Therapist program.
• Install and deliver respiratory equipment and supplies to patients at home; regularly assess equipment and patient needs.
• Act as clinical contact with physicians, referred contacts and other care providers for VieMedSleep Management services.
• Maintain accurate medical records, charts, files and equipment records; manage inventory and maintenance logs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and adherence to payer guidelines; coordinate with office staff for billing and documentation.
• Train and orient new staff, supervise technicians, and collaborate with frontline teams to promote home RT services.
• Participate in rotating on-call schedule and ensure timely patient support.
• Ensure safe operation of equipment prior to installation and provide reliable patient contact for needs.
• Perform other duties/projects as assigned.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Responsible for the overall clinical, technical and administrative functions at the location on record regarding the Home Respiratory Therapist program.
• Responsible for the installation/delivery of respiratory therapist equipment and provision of all needed supplies and products to the patients in the home and ongoing assessment of patients and equipment.
• Serve as the clinical contact with the physician, referred contacts, health care practitioners, and others involved in the care of the patients referred to Sleep Management, LLC d/b/a VieMed for home respiratory therapist services.
• Maintain records, charting, progress notes, clinical files, equipment records, preventative maintenance records, and other necessary documentation.
• Maintain accurate inventory of all Sleep Management/VieMed assets and supplies.
• Ensure that vehicle is maintained per applicable accreditation standards at all times.
• Update all pertinent demographic information regularly and upon any change in personal or professional status.
• Oversee all applicable regulatory rules and guidelines pertaining to the staff respiratory therapist.
• Orient and train subordinate or newly hired respiratory therapist staff service technicians.
• Exhibit effective written and verbal communication skills and adhere to cost‑containment policies and procedures.
• Work with the office staff to ensure prompt and accurate billing and documentation of services, including providing adequate information to satisfy third‑party payer guidelines for coverage.
• Collaborate with all clinical, managerial, and sales staff to promote and market home respiratory therapist services to all referral sources.
• Ensure proper, accurate, and safe operation of all equipment prior to installation.
• Provide availability for patient contact and response to patient needs.
• Participate in a rotating on‑call schedule with fellow RTs in the area.
• Work with team members (other RTs, PCCs, and various departments) to ensure tasks are completed.
• Complete other duties/projects as assigned.

Education And Experience
