Job description

Reporting to the program lead at the head office (Quebec), you play a key role in managing the activities and interventions undertaken in Haiti as well as managing the human resources, administrative and financial aspects of the on-the-ground portion of the project.

The proposed challenge

  • Carry out and coordinate the necessary steps and activities to get the project up and running (logistical, administrative, financial and operational aspects).

  • Recruit, guide and mobilize the members of the project team and ensure there is synergy between their activities.

  • Ensure results are achieved and activities are completed as defined in the implementation and work plans.

  • Implement performance metrics and ensure they are kept up-to-date so the project’s results and targets can be systematically and objectively monitored.

  • Support financial management and budget follow-up of the project.

  • Support the program lead with developing strategies, annual work plans and interventions to ensure results are met and risks are monitored.

  • Help identify, plan and fulfill technical services provided by Canadian advisors and national consultants.

  • Actively participate in efforts to identify and develop business opportunities in Haiti.

  • Help prepare project status reports.

  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with institutional partners and various stakeholders.

Contract position | 24 months with possibility of prolongation

Starting date: Upon signature of the contribution agreement with Global affairs Canada | April 2022

Location: Haiti | port-au-Prince and other areas to be determined

Do you fit this description?

  • You hold an undergraduate degree in business administration, project management or other related field. Your graduate degree is an asset.

  • You live in and are legally authorized to work in Haiti.

  • You have at least 8 years of experience in coordinating projects and managing a multidisciplinary team. Experience in the international development sector and/or financial industry in Haiti is a must.

  • Your understanding of the challenges related to developing and deploying support services for women entrepreneurs and integrating cross-cutting issues is a strong asset.

  • You are an excellent communicator, and possess outstanding interpersonal skills and an exceptional ability to influence and negotiate.

  • You have a reputation for knowing how to manage deliverables, engage your teams, meet deadlines and think strategically.

  • You are comfortable working with ambiguity and in a variety of cultural and organizational environments.

  • You can write and communicate in English and French.
