Job summary

Inclusive Abundance in Washington, DC, seeks a Press Secretary to secure national press coverage and shape the abundance narrative ahead of the 2028 primaries. You will manage rapid response, craft compelling pitches, and lead our social media and digital strategy with the Head of Communications.

You will collaborate with a policy communications colleague for policy-specific outreach. This role requires national press relationships, strong writing, and a proactive approach to securing media

Qualifications

• 4-7 years of communications experience in politics or policy
• Existing relationships with national reporters and track record of press placements
• Digital fluency and experience running social accounts and creating content
• Creativity and initiative with ideas to increase coverage
• Excellent, fast writing
• Strong judgment about political risk
• Collaborative mindset sharing credit within a team
• Passion for and alignment with our mission and values

Responsibilities

• Drive National Press Coverage by building relationships with reporters and outlets
• Develop and execute reporter briefings, pitches, embargoed rollouts, and exclusives
• Identify and train messengers for abundance topics
• Write sharp press materials: pitches, press releases, memos, op-eds, talking points
• Own social media strategy and content across X, LinkedIn, Substack
• Land thought leadership opportunities for CEO and senior staff
• Plan events with the Events & Convenings Manager
• Track coverage and social metrics and guide narrative direction
• Serve as on-the-record spokesperson as needed
