Job summary

Meta seeks an experienced leader to build and manage the company's local government affairs for its data center site strategy across the United States. You will lead regional local policy managers and personally manage local government engagement for priority localities, reporting to the Director of State Policy.

The role requires deep public policy experience, a track record of leading teams, and strong knowledge of internet, technology, infrastructure, and economic development policy.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• 12+ years of local or state public policy, advocacy, or government affairs.
• Experience managing teams and cross-functional collaboration.
• Strong understanding of technology policy, infrastructure, and economic development.

Responsibilities

• Lead, manage, and develop a team of regional local policy managers with strategy for local government engagement nationwide.
• Build and execute a national local government affairs strategy for data center objectives across municipalities and regional bodies.
• Engage with local policymakers to advance data center infrastructure investment, permitting, and economic development.
• Monitor political environment and identify opportunities to advance local policies benefiting the company and communities.
• Coordinate with internal teams to align policy engagement with site development timelines and community commitments.
• Collaborate with industry groups, nonprofits, and associations to promote policy priorities.
• Provide timely updates to cross-functional partners on local policy developments.
• Partner with Community Engagement to engage chambers of commerce and civil society groups at the local level.
• Represent Meta before local government bodies and coordinate advocacy campaigns.
• Manage relationships with policymakers and contract lobbyists, travel up to 80% as needed.

Education

Bachelor's degree in political science, business/strategy, economics, legal, communications, public relations, or a related field
