Job summary

Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power Solutions team to lead and grow our North American power generation practice. The role focuses on developing market strategy, managing projects, and delivering innovative power solutions for utilities, cooperatives, municipalities, and independent producers.

The ideal candidate brings 10+ years in the power generation sector, strong leadership, and proven client engagement.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Advanced Degree required.
  • At least 10 years of project management, design, consulting, construction, commissioning and/or operations experience in the power generation market.
  • Experience overseeing thermal generation power plant projects from planning to commercial operation.
  • Proven ability to engage and develop strong working relationships with clients, vendors, EPC contractors and other project stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and technical writing skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and expand Jacobs’ power generation practice for North America, shaping market delivery.

Your impact

The power utility market is undergoing rapid and dramatic changes, with drivers such as artificial intelligence and the electrification of infrastructure expected to create exponential load growth for power utilities across North America. In response, Jacobs is expanding its Energy & Power Solutions team to expand the delivery of reliable power solutions to the North American market.

Responsibilities

Lead and grow our power generation practice for North America, expanding Jacobs’ planning, design and owner’s engineer services portfolio for electric power utilities, cooperatives, municipalities and Independent Power Producers. Lead the development and execution of market and sales strategy, identify talent gaps, recruit skilled professionals to enhance Jacobs’ capabilities, and establish or deepen relationships with key clients. Collaborate with sales and delivery staff to develop innovative and compelling power generation solutions that provide exceptional market value. Oversee ownership and contract management, advisory roles, and strategic project development, ensuring projects meet client objectives and technical specifications.

Qualifications

  • At least 10 years of project management, design, consulting, construction, commissioning and/or operations experience in the power generation market.
  • Experience overseeing thermal generation power plant projects from planning to commercial operation.

Other Highly Regarded Qualifications
  • Prior experience in operational leadership roles.
  • Prior experience in recruiting, developing, and growing operational delivery teams.
  • Personnel management experience.
  • Broad network of power industry contacts and relationships.
  • Familiarity with diverse power generation technologies including Simple and Combined Cycle Gas Turbines, RICE Generators and other thermal generation power plants.
  • Professional engineering license(s).

Compensation

Base salary range: $170,400.00 to $235,000.00. Pay is determined by work location and additional factors including job‑related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
