Job summary

Sharps Medical Waste Services is seeking an experienced Director to lead hazardous waste operations across multiple markets nationwide, including on-site hospital programs and regional routes. Build scalable operating models, drive profitability, and ensure regulatory compliance while leading a high-performing team.

You will partner with EH&S, Transportation, Supply Chain, and Finance to support growth, safety, and operational excellence in a highly regulated industry.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Operations, Environmental Sciences, Supply Chain, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
• 10+ years of progressive operations leadership experience with hazardous waste operations (RCRA/DOT/EPA).
• Direct hands-on experience with regulated hazardous waste handling, transportation, treatment, storage, or disposal.

Responsibilities

• Lead hazardous waste operations across the organization, including on-site hospital programs and regional routes.
• Develop scalable national operating models, SOPs, staffing strategies, metrics, and best practices.
• Drive safety, efficiency, and profitability through process improvements and standardization.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and support inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
• Recruit, coach, and develop operational leaders for scalable growth.
