Job summary

HNTB in New York is seeking a senior design leader to drive design goals across complex infrastructure projects. You will lead with creativity, mentor design staff, and collaborate with firm leaders to execute strategies aligned to the firm’s design plans.

The role emphasizes a strong design culture, client relationship management, and strategic planning across markets. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity in New York with national scope.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Planning with 15 years in progressive roles.
• 10 years’ experience in design of complex projects.
• Proven leadership and staff development skills.

Responsibilities

• Works with Office Design Leader to coordinate high-quality design output meeting 4 for 4 standards (quality, on time, on budget, client satisfaction).
• Instills a culture of design excellence through regular project design reviews across offices.
• Leads development and implementation of the National Design Committee activities.
• Maintains active link to academia via studio and advisory council participation.
• Represents HNTB at the national level within professional/design societies.
• Collaborates with Officers to align design with strategic planning framework.
• Supports Office Leaders in hiring, supervision, development and evaluation of design staff.
• Participates in pursuit strategies across all market sectors.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
