National Construction Professional Liability Consultant (AVP OR VP)

Join us at Zurich North America as a National Construction Professional Liability Consultant (AVP OR VP) within our Specialties Construction team. We welcome talent from locations near any ZNA office or candidates interested in fully remote work, subject to managerial discretion.

Role Overview

This position involves managing Construction Professional Liability portfolios, leveraging data analytics for strategic insights, ensuring underwriting quality, and collaborating on tool and product innovation. You will analyze and underwrite complex new and renewal business as a subject matter expert, supporting customer service and profitable growth initiatives. The role requires close collaboration with leadership and stakeholders to deliver comprehensive risk transfer solutions, including Contractors and Owners Professional Protective Indemnity, among others.

Position Levels and Travel

The role is open at either AVP or VP level, with the appropriate level determined by experience and skills. Expect approximately 25% travel.

Key Responsibilities

1. Manage data analytics initiatives at a national level, providing actionable insights.
2. Collaborate with Technical Underwriting on guidelines and strategic directives.
3. Lead underwriting quality efforts, including reviews and audits.
4. Underwrite and analyze highly complex assignments independently, supporting global referrals as needed.
5. Demonstrate expertise in products and industry standards.
6. Administer underwriting rules, regulations, and rating manuals.

Qualifications

AVP Level:

• High School Diploma + 7+ years in underwriting or market-facing roles, or
• High School Diploma + 14+ years in claims or underwriting support, or
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice + Associate Degree + 5+ years in underwriting or market-facing roles, or
• Zurich Certified Insurance Apprentice + Associate Degree + 12+ years in claims or underwriting support, plus Microsoft Office skills.

VP Level:

• Bachelor’s Degree + 9+ years in underwriting or market-facing roles, or
• Bachelor’s Degree + 18+ years in claims or underwriting support, with experience in Construction Property.

Preferred Qualifications

• CPCU certification
• Advanced knowledge of Construction Professional Liability and the insurance industry
• Strong broker relationships
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and presentation skills

Additional Information
