National Co-Executive Director (Organizing & Programs)

Location: Remote
Reporting To: Board of Directors
Compensation: $133,000 + benefits
Start Date: January 2026

About BYP100: BYP100 is a national, member-based organization of Black 18 to 35-year-old activists and organizers, dedicated to creating justice and freedom for all Black people. We do this through building a network focused on transformative leadership development, direct action organizing, advocacy, and political education using a Black queer feminist lens. BYP100 envisions a world where all Black people have economic, social, political, educational, and spiritual freedom.

About the Opportunity: Reporting to the Board of Directors, the National Co-Executive Director (Organizing & Programs) co-creates the vision and strategic direction for BYP100’s next chapter in close partnership with the Co-Executive Director (Operations & Development) and in deep collaboration with staff and members. This leader grows and sustains the membership base, leads organizing and campaigns, and advances political education and capacity-building to strengthen leadership and deepen BYP100’s impact.

Key Priorities During Your First Year

What You Will Do:

  • Co-Develop & Implement the Vision & Strategic Direction for BYP100’s Next Chapter - 35%
  • Strengthen People, Culture, & Organizational Cohesion - 35%
  • Deepen Member Engagement & Expand Programs - 20%
  • Build Operational & Governance Stability with Chapters & with the 501(c)4 Board of Directors - 10%

Responsibilities:

  • Co-create and steward BYP100’s next chapter of vision and strategy, building trust and alignment across staff, chapters, donors, and movement partners.
  • Working in tandem with members, develop and implement a national organizing strategy; developing campaigns, direct actions, and movement-building efforts that energize and grow the membership base.
  • In close collaboration with the Co-Executive Director, lead a participatory budgeting planning process with chapters; identifying needs and resource allocation to the membership-base.
  • Support talent strategy and staff development efforts that ensure teams are supported to grow and thrive in their role.
  • Cultivate leadership pathways that prepare members to grow their leadership within BYP100 and across the broader movement.
  • Foster a culture rooted in collective care, trust, and collaboration — one that sustains the team and members through challenge, deepens our impact, and cultivates joy as a practice of liberation.
  • Unify operations and programs so the organization functions as one cohesive team.
  • Mobilize resources in response to chapter needs, aligning support with BYP100’s broader mission to ensure resourcing is values-driven and sustainable.
  • Develop and facilitate political education and capacity-building that equips members with the tools to lead, organize, and remain grounded in a Black queer feminist lens.
  • Activate former chapters and mobilize new member leaders to expand BYP100’s reach, strengthen its base, and deepen impact in emerging regions.
  • In collaboration with members, build grassroots fundraising strategies that expand chapter capacity, strengthen local sustainability, and equip leaders with tools and training.
  • Streamline operational and administrative processes to local chapter governance in close collaboration with members.
  • Strengthen governance for the c4 Board of Directors by clarifying roles, fostering shared accountability, supporting board recruitment efforts.
  • Deepen partnerships with movement allies and community stakeholders that expand opportunities for collective sustainability.

Who You Are:

  • You believe in BYP100’s mission – building a member-based organization of Black 18-35 year old activists and organizers dedicated to creating justice and freedom for all Black people.
  • You center a Black queer feminist lens. You recognize that oppressions are interconnected, center the leadership and wisdom of those most marginalized, and work to redistribute power, embed collective care, and transform systems toward freedom, dignity, and joy.
  • You are an organizer & political strategist. You bring deep experience in Black-led organizing, building campaigns that center Black voices, develop leaders, and grow collective power across the country.
  • You guide teams through change. You guide teams through moments of transition and crisis with clarity, transparency, care, and conviction.
  • You are deeply invested in political education. You are committed to your own ongoing political learning and growth, and you bring that same commitment to the development of others.
  • You bring conflict resolution expertise. You approach conflict with humility and care, creating space for honest dialogue and collective accountability.
  • You manage, coach, & empower leaders. You empower, activate, and support the individuals you manage using an asset-based framework.
  • You have strong written and oral communication skills. You communicate with clarity and humility across diverse audiences, from members and staff to boards, funders, and external partners.
  • You are a systems thinker and knowledge steward. You design and codify organizational systems that make knowledge accessible and sustainable — not dependent on any one person.

Working Environment: This is a fully remote position from anywhere within the United States. While relocation is not required, this role does require approximately 25% travel; this includes in-person collaboration with chapters, annual in-person board retreat, partner engagements, etc.

Benefits: BYP100 offers a comprehensive benefits package including unlimited paid time off, healthcare (medical, dental, and vision), a 401(k) with company match, and an annual cost-of-living adjustment.
