Summary

Our Retail Sales team is looking for the next National Accounts Manager to manage all Sales & Marketing aspects and activities in a specified account base. This includes goal- setting, selling & influencing, executing & measuring progress to ultimately attain the desired, specified positive results. This position establishes the processes to be used by the sales team including: strategic & tactical planning, Fact Based Selling, utilization of the Customer Database, execution and measurement of Supply Chain initiatives and career development through core competency measurement resulting in superior customer satisfaction. This manager is the primary contact and communicator between the Company and the accounts for which they are responsible for.

Principal and Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Develops and implements a National Account sales plan to include assigned divisions & product segments within the defined account(s). Attains all budgeted product line volumes, price, mix and share levels. Prepares and presents business reviews, new items and other defined Commercial projects. Monitors daily, weekly, quarterly and YTD relevant customer metrics.
  • Implements and champions procedures to continuously improve the accuracy of the Demand Plan forecast.
  • Manages the utilization of the trade management system to input and monitor customer programs to control spending and attain results.
  • Works cross-functionally with Sales Planning, RGM, Operations, QA, Supply Chain & Executive Management to ensure effective communication and problem solving. The National Account Manager is a member of a team and, as such, must work in coordination with all stakeholders for optimal outcomes for the Company and the customer.
  • Travels, as needed, to HQ, division and store locations to stay abreast of the marketplace, help support items and/or resolve issues.
  • Participates in a leadership position on special projects and cross-functional teams. Continuously improves skills participating in classes and seminars as deemed necessary in the developmental plan.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements

Bachelors degree in the areas of Sales, Marketing or Business Administration plus 7+ years related work experience. Our ideal candidate will have/be:

  • Strong reading, writing, planning & organization, communication and analytical skills.
  • Experience with Kroger within the food or food sales area highly preferred.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers and internal partners.
  • Ability to travel to plant facilities, innovation center and market areas to include overnight travel.
  • Should anticipate spending 20% of their time in travel.
Environmental Factors and Physical Requirements
