We are hiring for an Accounting Principles Director to join our National Practice A&A team.

The Accounting Principles Director is responsible for providing technical guidance on complex accounting matters to Partners and professional employees as an augmented member of the Assurance Engagement team. The professional in this role may also support clients in an accounting advisory role and clients of CCA’s BPO Advisory practice. This role ensures that accounting principles are appropriately applied to financial statements, maintaining quality and accuracy of financial information for clients and ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations. The role reports to the Accounting Principles Partner and is supported by the National Assurance Professional Practice Leader.

A successful candidate will be able to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. This position has the option to be fully remote or sit in any of our U.S. locations.

Responsibilities include:
  1. Provide technical guidance on complex accounting matters to assurance Partners and professional employees.
  2. Assist clients with technical accounting issues, financial reporting, and transactions to facilitate informed decision-making.
  3. Review consultations prepared by engagement teams.
  4. Review financial statements and disclosures for compliance with standards and policies.
  5. Collaborate with internal teams to deliver guidance and help clients understand transaction-related accounting implications.
  6. Conduct research on accounting topics and prepare technical memos.
  7. Stay updated on evolving accounting standards and regulations.
  8. Deliver quarterly updates on GAAP and new standards.
  9. Develop and deliver training to enhance technical skills within the firm and for clients.
  10. Contribute to thought leadership and practice aids as a firm representative.
  11. Build and maintain strong client relationships as a trusted advisor.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • CPA designation is required
  • 8+ years of experience in an audit practice at a large or regional firm
  • Extensive experience with technical accounting on complex matters
  • Deep understanding of accounting principles and research skills
  • Excellent communication skills for internal and external stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills for managing multiple projects
  • Ability to adapt to industry changes
  • Experience in developing firm-wide technical training programs
