Job summary

RTX’s Missile Defense Sensors (MDS) software team seeks a Senior Platform Engineer in onsite Massachusetts to design, modernize, and maintain secure platform infrastructure supporting real-time defense systems. You will implement architecture for NASAMS mission systems and ensure robust DevSecOps practices across programs.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a Bachelor’s in STEM and 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Linux platform engineering and administration.
• Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, Ansible and virtualization tools.
• The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government‑issued security clearance is required; U.S. citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Implement platform architecture and modernization strategies for NASAMS mission systems.
• Develop resilient, scalable platform environments using Linux, Kubernetes, Docker, Terraform, Ansible, Artifactory.
• Work on end‑to‑end DevSecOps workflows to support high‑frequency, high‑quality deployments across MDS programs.
• Work on CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD) to ensure secure, automated build, test, and release processes at scale.
• Work on cross‑program integration efforts spanning Software, Systems Engineering, Cybersecurity, Platform, and Integration & Test teams.
