Project Overview

The Gateway, part of NASA’s Artemis Program, is a multi-purpose lunar orbiting outpost supporting long-term human lunar surface missions and deep space exploration staging. CACI seeks an experienced Artemis Lunar Gateway Flight Software Development Engineer to develop NASA’s Lunar Gateway vehicle flight software, including prototyping, requirements, design, development, testing, verification, integration, and certification.

The Opportunity

This role requires a self-motivated individual with strong communication skills, technical expertise, and a passion for space exploration. The candidate should be a team player, adaptable, and capable of communicating complex ideas effectively.

Responsibilities
  1. Design and develop Lunar Gateway Flight Software.
  2. Support software requirements, interface definitions, design, and performance analysis through systems engineering.
  3. Perform software integration, testing, and verification.
  4. Test software/hardware in avionics test beds and flight certification environments.
  5. Collaborate across NASA programs and with contractors.
  6. Ensure compliance with JSC standard software processes.
Qualifications
Required
  • U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident
  • B.S. in relevant engineering or computer science fields
  • At least five years in safety-critical software development; experience in aerospace or related industries
  • Strong C programming skills and Linux experience
  • Experience with the entire software lifecycle
  • Good communication skills and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Responsible, team-oriented, and ethical
Desired
  • M.S. in relevant fields
  • Experience with human-rated space vehicles and specific vehicle software domains
  • C++, OOAD, NASA CFS, Python, VxWorks, TTE, bus protocols, device drivers, automation, GitLab, Jira experience

Compensation

Salary range: $69,100 - $141,500 USD, influenced by various factors including location, experience, skills, and education. We offer comprehensive benefits and flexible work options. Learn more here.
