General Purpose and Scope of Position:

The Chemical Plant Operator is responsible for daily inventory management, unloading and loading raw materials and finished goods, and supporting other operations departments. They operate and maintain equipment used to blend chemicals.

Key Skills and Abilities:

• Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
• Frequent walking for inventory checks, leak inspections, and tank operations.
• Ability to operate a skid loader and forklift.
• Respirator use required when unloading certain chemicals.
• Tolerance for temperature extremes up to 110°F and outdoor weather conditions.
• Work outdoors in all weather elements.
• Ability to work in a moderately loud environment.

Key Personal Attributes:

• High school diploma required.
• Ability to learn chemical processes and operations.
• 1-2 years of chemical plant experience and understanding of chemical processing preferred.
• Proficiency with computers and electronic equipment.
• Safety-conscious work habits.
• Attention to detail and precision.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

Responsibilities and Key Deliverables:

• Unload raw materials per procedures, managing tanks and lines.
• Operate production equipment such as pumps, blenders, reactors, and scales.
• Read charts and meters to manage machinery accurately.
• Collect, label, and deliver samples for lab testing.
• Prepare containers for product transport and label packaged materials per regulations.
• Troubleshoot and report equipment issues.
• Ensure documentation meets quality standards.
• Document work activities and communicate effectively.
• Operate plant equipment safely.
• Complete daily batches under supervision.
• Follow safety and environmental procedures.
• Complete inventory with Plant Manager.
• Assist in maintenance and other operational tasks.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
