Inovar Packaging Group in Fishers, IN is seeking a skilled Narrow-Web Flexo Press Technician to ensure high-quality, on-brand labels. You will review tickets, mount plates, load substrates, tune color and registration, and perform in-process checks to keep production moving.

The role requires hands-on press operation, experience with Mark Andy 2200 or similar narrow-web presses, strong color control, and the ability to troubleshoot issues quickly.

Responsibilities

• Review tickets, artwork, proofs, and specs to plan runs.
• Mount plates and set up dies, cylinders, inks, and tooling.
• Load substrates through the press with precision.
• Tune registration, tension, ink viscosity, color, and drying.
• Color-match to standards and adjust for sharp registration.
• Perform in-process checks on color, copy, barcodes, die-cut quality, and appearance.
• Troubleshoot print defects and color drift.
• Verify final product meets quality criteria and customer requirements.
• Document production, materials used, waste and downtime.
• Keep press clean and perform preventive maintenance.
• Coordinate with other departments to maintain workflow.
• Train press helpers and assist teammates.

Your Day, At a Glance

• Kick off by reviewing job tickets, artwork, proofs, press instructions, materials, and customer specs to plan your run.
• Mount printing plates; set up dies, cylinders, anilox rolls, doctor blades, inks, and all required tooling.
• Load and web substrates—paper, film, pressure‑sensitive stocks—through the press with precision.
• Tune registration, impression, web tension, ink viscosity, color, and drying/curing for an optimal start.
• Color‑match to standards, then make live adjustments to hold target color and sharp registration.
• Run in‑process checks: color, copy, barcodes, die‑cut quality, registration, and overall appearance.
• Troubleshoot issues such as dirty print, pinholing, plate bounce, registration variation, ink buildup, web breaks, or color drift—and fix them fast.
• Confirm finished product meets customer requirements and approved quality criteria before sign‑off.
• Document production, materials used, waste, quality checks, and downtime with accuracy.
• Keep the press clean, perform routine preventive maintenance, and make basic mechanical adjustments.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Prepress, Ink, Maintenance, and Finishing to keep work flowing.
• Share your know‑how by training Press Helpers and supporting teammates as needed.

What You’ll Bring

• High school diploma or GED.
• Hands‑on flexographic press operation experience strongly preferred; experience on a Mark Andy 2200 or similar narrow‑web press is a plus.
• Working knowledge of flexo plates, anilox selection, inks, dies, substrates, web handling, registration, and color control.
• Comfort reading job tickets, proofs, specifications, measurements, and production documentation.
• Mechanical aptitude and diagnostic skills with a keen eye for color and small print defects.
• Detail‑oriented, quality‑driven, and able to work independently while being a strong team contributor.
• Willingness to work overtime or adjust hours based on production needs.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

• Stand and walk for extended periods; frequent bending, reaching, pushing, pulling, and manual handling of materials and tooling.
• Lift and move up to 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Operate around moving equipment, inks, solvents, noise, and typical manufacturing conditions while wearing required PPE.
