Job summary

ChristianaCare is seeking a Narcotics Pharmacist to oversee the Controlled Substance Program, ensuring regulatory compliance and safe, accurate distribution across the health system. You will lead audits, manage inventories, and guide staff on policies and procedures to support patient care and operational excellence.

The role emphasizes collaboration with nursing, compliance, and leadership to maintain safety and accountability in controlled substance use and reporting.

Qualifications

• Requires Doctor of Pharmacy or B.S. in Pharmacy from accredited college
• At least 1 year as Pharmacist in acute care hospital, or 2 years as Pharmacy Intern/Technician in acute care hospital
• Experience in controlled substance management, regulatory compliance, auditing, or diversion monitoring preferred
• Current Delaware pharmacist license or reciprocity eligibility required

Responsibilities

• Oversee controlled substance procurement, inventory, accountability and distribution.
• Ensure ongoing compliance with DEA, Board of Pharmacy, Joint Commission, CMS and other regulations.
• Maintain perpetual C.S. inventory records and readiness for inspections.
• Lead auditing, monitoring and QA to identify discrepancies and diversion risks.
• Use diversion detection tools and report findings to Pharmacy leadership.
