Senior Nanny / Governess (Private Family Office)

Location: Austin, TX

Role Type: Full-time, long-term

Schedule: 50 hours/week on average; up to 70 hours/week during travel or coverage periods

Living Arrangement: Live-in or Live-out (flexible).

Compensation: Highly competitive salary + performance bonus + benefits

Overview

We are a private family office seeking an exceptional, career-level Nanny/Governess to support the care, development, and organization of two young children: 2-year-old son & 2-month-old daughter. This is a high-trust, high-responsibility role suited for a mature, highly capable professional who thrives in a demanding, fast-paced environment and is excited by long hours, responsibility, and long-term commitment.

Core Responsibilities

• Independently care for both children, including:
• Sole focus on one child when required (e.g., one day focused on the toddler, another on the infant)
• Managing both children together when needed
• Provide structured, appropriate care and education, including:
• Basic literacy and numerical literacy (toddler)
• Stories, science-based curiosity, structured play
• Infant development appropriate to children
• No TV, no phones (other than what is necessary for work) while caring for the children
• Extremely organized and precise with:
• Breast milk storage, labeling, freezing, transport
• Calculating quantities, timing, and feeding schedules
• Supporting a mother who is breastfeeding and pumping while managing an intense, unpredictable schedule career
• Confident handling night feeds, overnights, and irregular schedule

Documentation & Tracking

• Diligent tracking and documentation of:
• Feeding (amounts, times)
• Sleep schedules and patterns
• Behavioral observations for both children

Household & Family Support

• Assist the mother with:
• Children’s birthday parties and family events
• Holiday planning and decorations
• Family travel logistics
• Support organization and coordination of:
• Other nannies
• Household staff
• Changing schedules and coverage needs
• Capable of interviewing and onboarding additional childcare support if required

Logistics, Travel & Flexibility

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally (required)

Comfortable with:

• Evening, overnight, and weekend shifts
• 1-day notice changes to plans or travel
• Highly resourceful when packing, traveling, and managing children on the move

Required Qualifications (Non-Negotiable)

• Extensive professional experience as a nanny, governess, or similar role with UHNW or HNW families
• Proven ability to manage long hours and high-intensity schedules and work with mothers with demanding schedules
• Highly educated; capable of structured early childhood learning
• Excellent spoken and written English
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
• Ability to travel internationally
• Strong organizational and administrative skills
• Tech-savvy (email, calendars, digital tools; familiarity with AI tools a plus)
• Discreet, private, and professional at all times
• Calm, resilient, and solutions-oriented under pressure
• Ability to pass extensive background checks, period drug screens and provide extensive references
• Able to start the latest full time by May 1st, 2025 and complete interviews and paid trial before then (at least 7 days)
