Job description

AUSTIN, TX — FULL-TIME NANNY — LOCAL CANDIDATES ONLY - A warm, loving family relocating to Austin is seeking an exceptional FULL-TIME NANNY for their sweet 11-month-old daughter. The family is looking for someone who truly loves the baby and toddler years and is passionate about early childhood development, creating enriching experiences, and helping a little one learn and grow through play, exploration, and connection. A Montessori background or strong familiarity with Montessori principles is highly preferred, and Persian/Farsi-speaking candidates are especially encouraged to apply, although this is not a requirement. They will be renting in Bee Cave until they find a home, which will most likely be in Lakeway permanently, TBD.

Mom has been her daughter's primary caregiver and will be transitioning back to an in-office work schedule. Initially, she will be closely involved in helping establish routines and ensuring a smooth transition of care. This family is looking for someone who genuinely enjoys a collaborative, all-hands-on-deck environment and is comfortable having parents and extended family around regularly. There may be less autonomy in the beginning as everyone establishes their rhythm together, so someone affectionate, easygoing, communicative, and comfortable working alongside family will thrive. As trust develops, they would love a nanny who can confidently take initiative, anticipate needs, and become an integral part of their daughter's world.

Their ideal nanny is observant, resourceful, creative, and deeply engaged; someone who recognizes their daughter's developmental milestones and can proactively introduce sensory play, age-appropriate activities, toy rotations, outings, classes, and experiences that continually encourage her growth. They would love someone who can research local classes, take her to activities, arrange age-appropriate social opportunities, and help the family build a wonderful little community for her in Austin. Maintaining a consistent routine is also incredibly important, particularly surrounding naps, meals, activities, and transitions throughout the day.

Safety, reliability, and communication are paramount to this family. They are seeking someone exceptionally safety-conscious who approaches childcare with attentiveness, sound judgment, and a proactive mindset. The ideal candidate is dependable, responsive, and an excellent communicator who naturally keeps parents informed, provides thoughtful updates, and communicates openly and frequently. Someone who anticipates potential concerns, addresses them proactively, and understands that consistent communication builds trust will be especially valued. This is a busy household where family members or others may frequently come and go, so the nanny should be personable and welcoming while also possessing excellent judgment, discretion, and the ability to read the room. The family values someone who can seamlessly determine when to collaborate, when to take the lead, and when to give the family space. The nanny should be physically active and energetic, love being outdoors, and be a confident and competent swimmer. As their daughter becomes increasingly mobile, the family wants someone excited to get on the floor, explore outside, visit parks and classes, and keep up with an active and curious little one.

The general schedule will fall between 7:00 AM and 5:00 PM, with approximately 8 hours of care needed per day, although flexibility within that window is important. The family is still settling into Austin and will initially be in temporary housing while searching for their permanent home, so someone adaptable and comfortable navigating a period of transition would be ideal. Responsibilities will be primarily child-focused and include bottle and meal-related care, maintaining and organizing the child's spaces and belongings, children's laundry, cleaning and sanitizing bottles and feeding items, rotating toys, keeping inventory of supplies, preparing for outings, maintaining routines, and proactively identifying anything the child may need. There is also a high possibility of a tree-nut allergy, which is currently being evaluated, so the nanny must be attentive and comfortable following any allergy and food-safety protocols that may ultimately be required.

Above all, this family is looking for someone loving, affectionate, grounded, easygoing, proactive, and genuinely passionate about early childhood development. Personality, chemistry, safety, dependability, and exceptional communication are incredibly important. They want someone who meshes naturally with their family, embraces a collaborative household, and will pour love, creativity, and intention into helping their little girl thrive. Compensation is $30–$35/hour gross, based on experience, paid legally through payroll, with paid time off, paid holidays, and a monthly health stipend.
