Job summary

Sims Metal seeks an Accounting Manager to support financial control and reporting, ensuring accurate and timely financial information across the business unit. You will work with the Financial Controller and broader finance team to maintain IFRS compliance and strong internal controls.

You will act as the BU's technical accounting expert, provide guidance on contracts and capital projects, and support audit processes. A CA/CPA is preferred; ERP and Power BI experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and technical accounting requirements.
• Proven experience partnering with business stakeholders to deliver financial insights.
• CA/CPA qualification (or equivalent).
• Understanding of internal controls frameworks.
• Experience working with internal and external auditors.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements (Balance Sheet, P&L, Cash Flow).
• Support IFRS compliance and internal reporting policies.
• Assist BU reporting for half-year and year-end cycles, including disclosures and audit deliverables.
• Coordinate external and statutory audits; prepare audit schedules and respond to queries.
