Job summary

Milan Institute is seeking a skilled Manicure Instructor to join our part-time faculty in Bakersfield, California. You will deliver high-quality instruction, design lesson plans, and mentor students pursuing manicure careers.

Successful candidates will have a manicurist or cosmetology license, at least three years of professional experience, teaching experience, and strong communication and organizational skills. Day and evening shifts with some remote scheduling.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Manicurist or cosmetology license in good standing is required.
• Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a practicing manicurist.
• Prior teaching or training experience is desirable.
• Strong knowledge of manicuring principles and industry trends.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience, enthusiasm, and passion for educating.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• Proficiency in instructional technology and multimedia resources.

Responsibilities

• Develop and deliver comprehensive lesson plans aligned with curriculum goals.
• Provide theoretical and practical instruction in nail care, nail art, and sanitation.
• Demonstrate proper techniques and safety practices in manicuring.
• Create an inclusive learning environment and support student progress.
• Supervise hands‑on sessions and evaluate student performance.
• Identify and address individual learning needs and provide feedback.
• Stay current with industry trends and continuously improve the curriculum.
• Maintain a safe and organized classroom and lab environment.
• Mentor students and collaborate on curriculum development.
