Job summary

U.S. Army MWR at Fort Detrick, MD is seeking a director-level manager to lead the Directorate, Morale Welfare and Recreation (DMWR) Support Division at a small/medium garrison.

You will oversee NAF Financial Management, Marketing, Major Construction, Private Organization, and other NAF services, ensuring objectives are met within budget and manpower constraints. Applicants must meet federal eligibility and undergo background checks.

Eligibility

The public U.S. Citizens, Nationals or those who owe allegiance to the U.S.

United States (U.S.) Citizens and Non-U.S. Nationals who have resided in the U.S. or U.S. territory for three (3) or more continuous years immediately preceding the start of Federal affiliation.

Duties
  • Through subordinate activity managers, is responsible for the overall management and direction of the Directorate, Morale Welfare and Recreation (DMWR) Support Division at a small/medium garrison.
  • To include some of the following activities: NAF Financial Management, Marketing, NAF Major Construction (Requirements Determination), Private Organization, Commercial Sponsorship, NAF Property Management, Internal Review/Management Controls etc.
  • Directs and develops finance and accounting operations through various services to include receipt of, distribution of, and accounting for NAF. Maintains accounts showing status of installation allotments, assets, and liabilities.
  • Reviews and evaluates progress of program plans to determine whether overall objectives are being accomplished economically with reference to budget and manpower.
Requirements
  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Incumbent is required to submit a Financial Disclosure Statement, OGE-450, Executive Branch Personnel Confidential Financial Disclosure Report upon entering the position and annually.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with AR 215-3, para.2 to include a Tier 1 background investigation.
  • Incumbent must file a Confidential Statement of Affiliations and Financial Interest in accordance with the requirements of AR 600-50.

Required Experience
  • Work Experience directing one or more DMWR Support Management programs for a garrison, or similar civilian community, for at least one year.
Highly Preferred Qualifications
  • Possess four (4) or more years of professional experience working within the Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (DFMWR).

Experience MUST be clearly reflected on your Resume at the time of application to be considered. Applicants meeting the Highly Preferred criteria will be referred first to the Selecting Official. All other applicants may be referred for consideration at managements request.

  • This job is part of a pay-banded system. Sunday premium pay for regularly scheduled employees and night differential pay may be authorized by the Garrison Commander.
  • Non-foreign overseas allowances, cost of living (COLA), and differentials will not be paid, contingent upon eligibility.
