Job summary

Bevilacqua Research Corporation is seeking a Diving and Hyperbaric Research Scientist/Engineer (part-time, consultant) to work in the Decompression Group of the Biomedical Research Department. The role combines on-site duties with remote telework as coordinated by N32 Department Head, requiring U.S.

citizenship and eligibility for a secret clearance. The ideal candidate holds a PhD in biomedical science or related field with knowledge in cardiovascular, respiratory, exercise or systems

Qualifications

• PhD in biomedical science or related field required.
• Experience with decompression/hyperbaric physiology is highly desirable.
• Ability to review and synthesize scientific information and reports.

Responsibilities

• Conduct alternobaric research supporting the Biomedical Research Department.
• Plan and execute research, development, testing and evaluation of systems physiology, diving procedures and equipment.
• Contribute to generation and publication of reports.

THIS IS A PART TIME, CONSULTANT POSITION

This position’s effort is accomplished through a combination of on‑site work and remote telework as coordinated through the Biomedical Research Department (N32) Department Head.

Responsibilities:

The person in this position will serve as a Diving and Hyperbaric Research Scientist/Engineer in the Decompression Group of the Biomedical Research Department.

• Conduct alternobaric research in support of the Biomedical research department.
• Conduct and collaborate with other NEDU staff in the planning, execution of research, development, testing and evaluation related to systems physiology, diving procedures and diving equipment.
• Contribute to generation and publication of reports.
• U.S. Citizen with eligibility for a secret clearance.
• PhD Engineer, scientist, physician or equivalent with background knowledge in biomedical science, cardiovascular, respiratory, exercise or systems physiology
• Experience reviewing and synthesizing scientific information to include journal articles, technical reports, research proposals, experimental protocols, raw or compiled data.
• (Desired, not required) Experience conducting human subject research.
• (Desired, not required) Experience and knowledge in diving and/or hyperbarics.

This is a new position; it has not been created to fill an existing (vacated) Civil Service Position
