Join to apply for the Mystique - Sushi Cook role at Big Night Entertainment Group.

As a Sushi Cook, a typical day might include:

  1. Creating high-quality sushi, including cooking rice, rolling sushi, temperature recording, cutting, and packaging for take-out and dine-in plate preparation.
  2. Preparing sushi dishes according to established guidelines on quality, portion size, presentation, and food safety.
  3. Expertly cutting, slicing, and filleting different types of fish.
  4. Inspecting the quality of fruits, vegetables, and fish used to prepare sushi dishes and informing the Sushi Chef when quality is sub-standard.
  5. Setting up, maintaining, and cleaning stations while practicing good safety, sanitation, and organizational skills, adhering to restaurant guidelines.
  6. Ensuring the quality and safety of food by performing sanitary measures, including good personal hygiene, cleaning surfaces, sweeping floors, and proper storage of food items.
  7. Observing safety procedures, determining appropriate actions beyond guidelines, and reporting unsafe conditions.
  8. Restocking items as needed throughout the shift.
  9. Performing other duties as assigned.

This job might be for you if you demonstrate the following abilities and meet these qualifications:

  • At least 1 year of direct sushi experience in a fast-paced, upscale restaurant or bar.
  • Experience with additional types of Asian cuisine is a plus.
  • Food Safety Certification is a plus.
  • A neat and professional appearance.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
  • Proper knowledge of equipment use and maintenance.
  • Ability to work efficiently and consistently.
  • Ability to follow directions and communicate effectively with co-workers.
  • Ability to demonstrate teamwork.
  • Ability to stand on your feet for extended periods.

Physical Demands / Work Environment / Hours:

  • May need to lift or move up to 30 lbs using proper techniques and withstand long hours on your feet.
  • Work hours may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
