General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. is seeking a Database Administrator to join a skilled team supporting critical customer activities in Bethesda, MD.

The DBA will help ensure secure, scalable data solutions across development, test, training, and production environments, collaborating with developers and stakeholders across multiple organizations. Required qualifications include 10+ years of experience, a Bachelor's in a relevant field, and TS/SCI with Polygraph.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in database administration or equivalent.
• Relational databases experience with MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• AWS experience.
• User-level Linux experience with strong SQL skills.
• Experience supporting development and administration of databases.
• Design and implement security measures: access controls, auditing, logging.
• Experience with data exchange formats including XML.
• Security clearance TS/SCI with Polygraph.
• Desirable scripting: Python.

• Support a high-visibility, large-scale application with users across 50+ organizations.
• Collaborate with developers to design, develop, test, and deploy systems using Scrum.

HOW A DBA WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

• Partner with another senior DBA to create, modify, and manage database structures to meet customer requirements.
• Support a high-visibility, large scale application with users in 50+ organizations across the customer's space.
• Collaborate with software developers to design, develop, test and deploy the system using iterative Scrum practices.
• Design, develop, test, and deploy data models and databases across development, test, training and production environments on multiple classification levels.
• Implement and maintain security features including access control, role separation, audit and logging, and system monitoring.
• Participate in agile development activities and meet all reporting requirements
• Engage with stakeholders to gather requirements, develop user stories, and translate needs into data models and database solutions.
• Coordinate with other enterprise data service programs to integrate capabilities.
• Prepare technical documentation and briefings for program reviews.
• Deliver demos and walk-throughs of data models and repositories to technical and non-technical audiences.
• Support rapid prototyping to refine requirements and system design.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:

• Education: Bachelors Degree (Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a closely related discipline) or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience
• Required Experience: 10+ yrs
• Required technical skills:
• Significant experience working with a relational database such as MySQL or Postgres.
• AWS experience
• User level experience with Linux and a strong grasp of SQL.
• Experience supporting development and administration of databases.
• Design and implemention of security measures, access controls, role separation, audit and logging in database solutions.
• Experience with standard data exchange formats including Extensible Markup Language (XML).
• Security Clearance Level: TS/SCI with Polygraph
• Desired skills: Experience with a scripting language such as Python.
• Location: Bethesda, MD - On Customer Site
