REQUIREMENTS:
- Must have Dual Certification in Special Education and English Language Arts Gr. 7-12
- Must meet NYSED Fingerprinting requirements
The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required:
Knowledge of school organization, goals and objectives, curriculum, teaching techniques, current trends, research, and materials of instruction in field of specialization
Excellent knowledge and understanding of the teaching and learning process
Ability to infuse technology into curriculum
Skilled in tracking student progress toward achieving goals and communicating progress to parents regularly
Knowledge of various assessment tools (running records, etc.)
Experience in differentiating instruction to meet students’ needs and encouraging student growth and progress across content areas through the use of small group instruction, and targeted individual support
Ability to work with students of diverse backgrounds who have diverse skills and needs
Desire to grow as a part of a professional community by utilizing research-based tools, practices, and approaches to support varied means of instructional practice and delivery, student learning, and students’ overall growth and achievement
Possesses exemplary interpersonal skills and tools for collaboration with all school faculty, staff, administrators, and families in service to students
Other responsibilities, as assigned, based on the needs of the school and its scholars
