Job description

Performs a variety of duties in support of the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) Community Recreation program, which may include:

  1. Special events
  2. Recreation information/resources
  3. Command events
  4. Visiting ships or fleet support
  5. Community events
  6. Trips, tours, outings
  7. Party and picnic rental equipment
  8. Resale tickets
  9. Recreational green space management
  10. Bowling, Library, Liberty, grab-n-go, movies, and outdoor recreation

Qualifications:

  1. Combination of experience related to customer service and recreation activity-based functions.
  2. Ability to organize, plan, and administer special events and entertainment activities.
  3. Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  4. Knowledge of the goals, principles, techniques, and procedures used in organizing, planning, and conducting leisure time activities.
  5. Knowledge of the Navy MWR mission and the scope of Community Recreation activities, including their suitability for individuals, groups, ages, and interests.
  6. Knowledge of the functions, procedures, and operations of recreation activities.
  7. Strong customer service skills.
  8. Ability to maintain records, compile data for reports, and perform research on recreation topics for dissemination to customers.
  9. Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
  10. Knowledge of computers, office procedures, and print production.
