Job description

This position is located in the Commander, Navy Region Southwest, Recycling Department. The purpose of the position is to operate a motor vehicle and perform recyclable material collection and sorting for Commander, Navy Region Southwest Recycling Program.

• Must be skilled in handling the control for starting, stopping, backing, and driving the vehicle.

• Must know safety and regulations and other posted rules for moving vehicles, and how to load cargo onto the vehicle, arranging it in such a way to provide the best support and to prevent unsafe shifting.

• Must know or be familiar with reporting requirements and procedures applicable for preparation of records and log sheets.

• Must know driver's maintenance requirements and procedures for the vehicle being driven.

• Ability to learn to operate industrial recycling equipment, and forklift.

• Must be able to follow verbal and written instructions.

• Ability to deal effectively with others, including civilian and military personnel.
