Job summary

The NYC School Construction Authority (SCA) offers an Opportunity Academy Internship, a year-long program with an 18-week paid training phase led by public construction and procurement professionals. Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• Authorization to work in the United States is required.
• Proficiency in English and strong communication skills are required.
• One year minimum work experience, preferably in an office or customer service setting.

Responsibilities

• Assist MWLBEs enrolled in the SCA’s Mentor programs in back-office operations, including bid documentation, payments, schedules, change orders, and closeout documents.
• Develop a workforce with transferable skills to prepare and submit documentation for access to government contracting opportunities, especially in public construction.
